Apply for a Mail-in Ballot

The last day to apply for a mail ballot is Friday, June 9, 2023.

You can apply for a mail ballot today in several ways: in person, online, by mail, by email, and by phone.

Be sure to return your mail ballot! Regular mail can take up to 10 days to deliver within Arlington. We do not recommend mailing a ballot less than 10 days before an election.

Vote in-person at your usual polling place.

Virginia now has same-day voter registration. We still strongly encourage you to register to vote by May 30, 2023.

Voter ID Requirements

There is a long list of acceptable forms of identification for voting at your polling place or voting early.

You can use your voter card, driver’s license, passport, student ID, employer photo ID, utility bill, etc. Click on the link below for more information about acceptable forms of ID.

If you get to your polling place without acceptable ID, you can sign an ID Confirmation Statement affirming your identity and you will be able to vote using a regular ballot.

If you do not sign an ID Confirmation Statement, you may still fill out a provisional ballot. You will be provided detailed instructions to make sure that your vote still counts. Click the link below for more information about this process.
